Predator strikes on U.S.Citizens. A Limerick.

Obama assassinates, war just the same,
So Habeas Corpus in now but a name.
The predator strikes
On Americans, Yikes!
Constitution is void – and that’s to our shame.

Hi Len: Here is a piece I sent to “Letters” in the “Williamsport Sun Gazette last week.

Treason is the betrayal of one’s country by waging war against it, or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies (American Heritage Dictionary). The killing of al-Awalki certainly seems justified in that his actions through his writings and teachings affirm the definition of treason. But! As an American citizen al-Awalki should have been protected by the 4th, 5th and 6th Amendments to The Constitution. Many of our constitutional rights have been negated and circumvented through the Patriot Act which official title is “Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism.” The Patriot Act should be found unconstitutional.
I mention all this, not because I mourn the passing of al-Awalki’s treasonous soul, but because of where much of this is leading.
Two questions: What would we think if a foreign country exploded a drone in the United States to eliminate a presumed traitor of that country? And, by the Executive circumventing the Bill of Rights and also appointing a federal police force of private citizens (suggested by Obama) which loyalty would be to the Executive and not the Constitution: Would this not accelerate our present course to tyranny? Our own actions in this matter could seem treasonous were we to continue to support those “that are not proud of our country
