Terror in Norway. Why?

Terror in Norway. Why?
Nothing ever happens in Norway.
That was true until yesterday when over 95 people were killed in a bombing in Oslo and a Social Democratic youth camp.
It didn’t take long for the blame game to start. This is what I have learnt:
Al-Qaida: Two different groups claiming responsibility.
The Israeli covert operation Mossad: The argument here is that Norway is drawing back from Libya, is actively promoting a Palestinian state and have disinvested itself from Israeli stocks, so why would any Muslim want to attack Norway? (This comes from the Marxist camp)
A Norwegian Timothy McVeigh. It must be a right wing extremist, since most terror actions in USA and Europe are committed by right wing extremists. (This comes from most of the media)
Which was it?
The man identified by police in Norway as today’s mass killer is Anders Behring Breivik. He is a rather handsome Norwegian with many friends on Facebook, seemingly intelligent and reasonable and no trail of violence in his past. According to the police “he came out of nowhere”.
In his manifesto he adheres to the Vienna school of thought, summed up as:
– Cultural Conservatism (anti-multiculturalism)
– [Against] Islamization
– Anti-racist
– anti-authoritarian (resistance to all authoritarian ideologies of hate)
– Pro-Israel/defender of non-Muslim minorities in Muslim countries
– Defender of the cultural aspects of Christianity
– Exposing the Eurabia project and the Frankfurt School (new-Marxism/culture-Marxism/multiculturalism)
– Is not an economic policy and can collect everything from socialists to capitalists
He equates Nazism, Marxism, Islamism as a political force, and Socialism as being of the same root, political control of people and resources.
He belonged to no extremist organization. His stated political inclination can best be described as libertarian or conservative Democrat. (The progress party, the second largest party in Norway)
No one can testify he had any religious interest except at the cultural level.
The left wing media has determined he is an “Extremist right wing fundamentalist Christian”. The evidence does not support that.
My attempt to describe him would be a “culturally conservative agnostic”
It is very difficult in Norway to get a gun permit. You must belong to a gun club and pass a test periodically, be active and practice regularly. The gunman had valid permits for a number of guns. He had a clean police record except for a few normal misdemeanors.
He had everybody fooled, maybe even himself. Yet he did what he did.
I am still at a quandary. Why?
